President

Beth Johnson

Work with the Principal of the school to oversee the effectiveness of PTA projects. Coordinate the work of the Officers and Committees to ensure that their purposes are promoted. Must have served on the Crosswind Elementary PTA Board for at least one term (as stipulated in the Bylaws Article VI Section 4).

1st VP- VP Parent Volunteers

Whitney Haas

Solicit the general school population for interest in volunteer areas. Maintain a master list of PTA volunteers and distribute the list as appropriate. Coordinate room parent activities as necessary. Serves as advisor to School Engagement committee.

2nd VP- VP Membership

Rachelle Godshalk

Coordinate membership drive. Maintain membership database and records and submit reports as required to Tennessee PTA officials and United Shelby County Council. Serves as advisor to Family Engagement, Legislative Advocacy, and DEI committees.

3rd VP- Publicity

Lori Duncan

Maintain the Crosswind PTA website. Promote PTA events on social media and the website.

4th VP- Sponsorship

Caitlin Reynolds

Solicit donations from sponsors. Serves as advisor to Turkey Trot Race Coordinator committee. Assists in planning/executing annual Turkey Trot fundraiser (online donation platform, pep rally, race day, awards/incentives)

5th VP- Programs

Kelly Johnson

Plan the programs for each general meeting in coordination with the President. Supports and promotes reading programs and initiatives. Serves as advisor to Safety & Citizenship and Cultural Arts committees.

Treasurer

Rachael Lloyd

Maintain a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures in the books belonging to the PTA. Present a monthly budget report. Make disbursements as authorized. Submit annually to the IRS the appropriate 990 form by November 15.

Secretary

Morgan Huelsing

Record and distribute minutes of all meetings of the PTA. Send meeting reminders to Executive Committee and Board of Managers.

Parlimentarian

Jayme Green

Serves as advisor to the board on questions of parliamentary law and matters of procedure.

Safety and Citizensip

Carly McWatters

Communicate with the school nurse about health room needs. Oversee Safety Poster Contest and Citizenship Essay Contest. Plan health, safety, and drug awareness programs (Red Ribbon Week)

School Engagement

Deirdre Murray

Plans and coordinates staff appreciation, including Welcome Back Breakfast, monthly teacher treats, and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Community Outreach

Ashley Isbell

Coordinates philanthropic programs including Warm Wishes boxes and our monthly food bank donations.

After-Hours Chair

Taylor Whitworth

Plan and coordinate out-of -school events such as Eagle Family Fun Fest, Movie Night, and Grillin with Grands.

Breakfast Chair

Krystle Presley

Plan and coordinate events such as Pastries and PJ's, Donuts with Grown-Ups, and Kindergarten Boohoo Breakfast.

Legislative Advocacy

Stay informed about all local, state, and national legislation that affects the health, safety, and welfare of our children and youth.

Turkey Trot Race Coordinator

Works to plan and execute the Turkey Trot fundraiser (pep rally, race day, awards/incentives, online platform)

DCI (Diversity and Cultural Inclusion)

Open

Works to increase membership, involvement, and leadership roles of diverse populations, especially underrepresented groups. Provides programs highlighting DCI.

Works to capture images for the website and social media of PTA events and programs.

Reflections

Morgan Person

Runs the Reflections program at Crosswind and organizes a reception for the award recipients.

Dance Chair

Organizes and executes the annual Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance

Special Needs Liason

Shelley Hopkins

Acts as a liaison between the special needs families and the PTA.

Swag Chair

Julie Turner

Responsible for promoting school spirit by designing swag for the PTA and coordinating the sale and distribution of the school spirit apparel and accessories.
