Safety Poster and Citizenship Essay

WHY IS ART EDUCATION IMPORTANT FOR YOUR CHILD?
Art is both an important tool for learning, as well as a basic part of human nature. Art is not an educational “frill” but a form of expression and a way to convey feelings.  PTA recognizes the many ways a quality arts education can benefit all children.  The organization has set a goal to establish the arts as a basic component in the curriculum of every public school and to ensure that every child receives a quality arts education.

Local units can do many things to assist with arts programs in schools or to enhance the ones the school has.  Local units can also introduce programs that Tennessee PTA offers such as the annual Citizenship Essay Program and the Safety Poster Program, as well as the program run by National PTA, the Reflections Program.

The Crosswind PTA Safety and Citizenship committee networks with school staff and community agencies to promote the physical and emotional health of children and youth. We are committed to implementing programs and events that align with these efforts. As a result, we have chosen to adopt and promote the TN PTA Citizenship Essay and Safety Poster programs, and the chairperson of this committee helps to coordinate these creative opportunities for students. Please see below for more information about each contest, participation guidelines, and submission deadlines.
